Could this be traction?

Woot! Is it possible...just possible that this site could be getting some traction, and that that could possibly lead to...momentum? I'm very pleased that Richard Galloway has jumped in and helped update some of the calendar dates. And how great to hear from cousin Sue too!

I've been trying to make sure all family members have authoring rights, so please don't be shy about writing your own post. We really want to hear where, you are and what you've been doing! Thanks to this site..I've now managed to find out that Lynn and Richard moved to Alaska!!! Who knew??? And when did that happen??? Since I know I can't be the only one who periodically loses touch...your posts to this site will help us avoid those big suprises!

To add your post, create a google login (if you don't already have one) for the email address I've been given. You should have received an invitation from the blog when I added your email to confirm. Once you're logged in..you should see the option to post in the upper right corner. A screen with a title field and a text block should be available for you to write in. I'd love to see photos or videos posted (there's an "Add Image" button to insert your pics). And if you have a link to a personal blog, photo sharing site, or the like...please add it. Or...feel free to send me an email and I'll add it to one of the gadgets if you prefer.

New Additions

Hi all! I'm collecting emails of family members and sending new invitations to read & post to this blog. I hope that you are enjoying reading the (somewhat intermittent) posts, and will find occassion to post an update of your own. Which of course, will only make this forum all the more interesting!

Happy blogging!

p.s. Please pass on the link to this site to any other family members you wish. Or, share their email addresses with me, so that I can forward an invitation. If you have a personal website or blog you'd like linked from here, I'd be happy to manage that for you. If you notice, we have a calendar for family events....birthdays, anniversaries and the like (reunion, anyone?). The calendar too could benefit from the addition of a multitude of missing entries.

Halloween was fun!

Happy Halloween (belatedly)! Joshi was blue power ranger..his choice, and my preference over a Sith lord! I just could not talk him into the cutsie Madagascar costume. "Never!" he said. Ahh well, my boy is growing up.

I had the day off, so we spent a fun afternoon downtown, running into all kinds of people we knew. We skipped the Summit 'cube' trick or treat this year, but did go to friends at Grand Oaks for evening trick or treating. Josh was the only one of his friends to brave the Haunted House. The girls talked the talk, but chickened out when it came time to go in.

At the end of the evening, I went to collect Josh and found him getting a lingerie show that his six year old girl friends were putting on for him (mommy's sexy bras were on display)! Ai yi yi, they start so young. I can't even imagine what his teenage years are going to be like!

Do I need to repeat that Joshi had FUN on Halloween?

Cheryl's Blogging!

Woot! We finally talked Cheryl into starting a blog (hey, a little coersion never hurt anyone, right?). So, let's all be sure to check out her blog regularly (the Dale & Cheryl link on the right). And here's a quick snapshot of what she's gotten started...

1st Grade & 1st Tooth Fairy Visit

Joshi got pictures & lost a tooth...without knocking it out!
We could never find the top tooth he knocked out, so long ago, சோ this is his first visit from the Tooth Fairy.

His other bottom front is loose also, and the top right has been 'iffy' since he knocked the first one out. It's getting closer to the day when I see him with a full smile!

He looks a bit serious at first in this school photo... then I see the look in his eyes! This is one of the times he reminds me of dad.

End of Fall Soccer 2008

I received these photos from another 'soccer mom' of Josh and a couple of his teammates (Austin on the right, Hunter on the left). They were sitting out a quarter and Josh decided to teach the others a game he'd learned (or made up...I can't always tell with him). They were really adorable sitting and playing together on the ground, huddled up in a clover formation.

Time for an Update!

So much to do , so little time. If this blog had feelings, I'm sure it would be feeling deeply neglected. So time for an update.

Spent a lovely evening at the urgent care center tonight. Josh had a teensy tinsy little bit of an old scrape left, when it decided to go bad. Tried heat compresses Saturday & Sunday, but no fix. Quite the little 'procedure' they had to do tonight. Should've turned the video on to get the full effect of them cutting him open, cleaning out and stuffing the hole with fabric ribbon. Took a few shots with the phone for him to enjoy later.

On a brighter side, really enjoying the Indian Summer (love em)! Corvallis is full of blood red trees right now, and complement it with the still green grass (freshly cut..smelled wonderful tonight) and the spots of yellow here and there too. Very nice.

Josh & I went to the ski swap last week. Geared him up with new skis & boots. Translucent Orange (Technica) boots and 110cm Rossignol Radicals...which also happen to be....Orange! He's been telling me for months now that he wants to join WARP (Willamette Area Racing Program), but alas..he's going to have to wait another year until he's 7. I'll try to get him to actually think about technique more this year.

Our spot is one year old! Happy anniversary!

It's now been one year since this blog was created. While use of the spot has been less than robust, I'm still hopeful that over time we will find value within these pages.
